FAQ - Speciated Mercury Emissions Data (Part III)
- Which facilities were selected to participate in Part III?
- I have more than one control device on the unit that was selected. Do I have to do inlet/outlet testing
on each one?
- Do I have to use paired sampling trains at the inlet and outlet?
- At what date is the test to be completed?
How soon can it take place?
- I have a dry scrubber/spray dryer adsorber (SDA) system. Where should I perform the testing on my
unit?
- Where should "testing at the...outlet of the last emission control device installed on the selected unit"
be conducted?
- Does EPA have an approved list of stack testing contractors that can perform the speciated mercury analysis?
- What do I do if I have a sampling location that does not meet Method 1 requirements? What if I have
multiple ducts around the control device to be tested?
- Since the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the analysis of the samples from the Ontario-Hydro method are not going to be developed until June, when the method becomes final, what are we suppose to do about including this information in the quality assurance project plan (QAPP) for the tests?
- I am inquiring about the coal samples to be collected as a component of the Part III testing. Do we need to collect a coal sample for every Ontario Hydro run?
